Rich, textured, and quietly luxurious — Dusky Petals celebrates the understated beauty of Ghicha silk, one of Eastern India’s most distinctive handwoven textiles.

Woven in a deep shade of magenta with delicate gold motifs scattered across the body, this saree unfolds into a striking pallu featuring geometric patterns and subtle bands of mustard, teal, and plum. The contrast border and textured weave give the saree a beautiful interplay of color and dimension.

What makes Ghicha silk special is the way the silk is produced. Unlike traditional silk where intact cocoons are used, Ghicha silk is made from broken cocoons left behind after the silkworm has naturally emerged. This means no silkworms are harmed in the process, making Ghicha silk a more ethical and sustainable silk choice.

The fibers create a distinctive natural texture that gives the fabric character and depth. Despite its rich look, Ghicha silk is surprisingly lightweight, breathable, and fluid, allowing the saree to drape effortlessly while maintaining structure.

Elegant yet modern, Dusky Petals is a saree that carries both heritage and conscience in its weave.
