It takes 2 skilled artisans to simultaneously weave a saree with intricate extra weft motifs and the distinct temple border designs. The intricate patterns are not printed but painstakingly woven on the loom, showcasing the artisan’s skill and precision. Lightweight yet structured, this saree drapes beautifully and is ideal for festive wear, cultural events, or everyday elegance.

The saree is starched and will soften when its washed.

Moirang refers to the historic village of Moirang in Manipur where this saree was  traditionally woven, 'Phee’ means cloth in Meitei (Manipuri) language. The zigzag motif that runs along the border of the saree on both sides is called the 'Yarongphi- it represents the pointed teeth of Pakhangba, a serpent deity in Meitei mythology.
